Bitumen Spraying
Copley Bitumen Nozzles are designed to spray liquid tar, bitumen emulsion, or water onto a road or footpath. The nozzles are available with various orifice sizes to give different rates of discharge.

Performance has been calibrated for the Copley A4 and EA4 nozzles in accordance with Austroads Standard 10.0:2001 for a flow rate of 18L/ minute (4 Igpm) at a pressure of 95kPa (14psi) at the nozzle.
There are 2 distinct types of nozzles:-

Intermediate Nozzles – for use along the spray bar.
Models available are: S1, S2, A3, A4, B6, B8. -
End Nozzles – designed for use at each end of the spray bar. The discharge rates of end nozzles are approximately double that of the corresponding intermediate nozzle. Models available are: ES1, ES2, EA3, EA4, EB6.
The optimum distribution of the liquid is achieved when:-

the nozzles are assembled on the spray bar with regular spacing

the fan direction - alignment - of each nozzle is correct

the spray bar is at the correct height above pavement
Rated flow rates are from 5 to 35 L/ minute (1 to 8 Igpm) at operating pressures from 0.5 to 1.0 Bar (10 to 14 psi).
All nozzles are machined from 7/8" square brass bar and have a 1/2"BSPT male thread.
